A Day in the Life of a Tel Aviv Woman

As fun as mass emails can be, I decided to start this blog with the hopes of writing on a more regular basis. I welcome your comments so feel free to write often.

Bye Bye benchmark, Hello Bangkok

Today is my last day of work; the end of an era. After two and half years in venture capital I am saying goodbye. But I am also saying hello to a new chapter in my life: travel.

Israelis are known to be a traveling people. Most Israelis take a long trip after the army. The hotspot used to be South America, but over the past 10 years India and Thailand have made the list. I never did go through the army but I am about to embark on my post army trip of many months. How many months exactly? I don't know.

I am an organized person who thrives off of order and planning. This trip will test my spontaneous side and I will see if I really do know how to relax. Not to worry, internet cafes are prevalent in the east and I plan on continuing my blog.

Ariel asked me the other day "are you going to continue your blog when we go abroad?" he was both happy and relieved to hear me say yes. "Great" he said. "This way people will know what is going on with me too.” My husband's laziness made me laugh. Men.

The backpack is almost ready, the immunization shots have all been given and my tour book is in hand. Now all that is left is to get on the plane.

Ariel and I have both received numerous reactions of jealousy and envy. Ariel's response is exactly how I retorted when people heard I was making aliyah: "don't be jealous, just come along.” the invitation is always open.
